These prayer shawls are given freely as Christ has given to us.
Who Could Use a Prayer Shawl?
Any man, woman, child who is: undergoing surgery, medical test/procedures, suffering a loss, Hospice patients, expectant mothers and the elderly.

Blessing Bags & Detroit Street Ministry
St. Paul Lutheran Church supports an ongoing, year-round “street ministry” in Detroit. I began doing outreach seven years ago when my son attended school in Detroit. I saw many people (and dogs) on the streets and felt inclined to help. I began making bags full of toiletries, snacks, socks, etc. I had heard about another street ministry on the east side from a friend and rode with them several times to see what it was about. Since that time, this ministry grew into me and my friends, taking a carload of needed items downtown (including food) , parking on a corner in midtown, and passing out the goods. Many parishioners have helped by purchasing shoes, food and more.
Now we have a “Blessing Bag Corner” in the parish hall, where items collected will be in bins. Any group can see what is needed and/or assemble the “Blessing Bags” for passing out on Sunday afternoon in Detroit! Anyone is welcome to head to Detroit with me on Sunday to see the giving in action!
Please call (248) 349-3140 for more information.
